The Development President Welcomes Back Southwestern College

President Brad Andrews and the Southwestern Board of Trustees are busy preparing for their summer strategic planning retreat where I will present Disruption, Adaptation and Navigating the Emerging Higher Education Landscape.

The Southwestern Moundbuilders lay claim to a very distinctive college nickname. The unusual moniker has given life to one of the most meaningful traditions in higher education.

At the beginning of the school year, each student paints a rock and adds it to a growing mound near the campus entrance. The annual Moundbuilding ceremony reminds students that they each make a unique contribution to the community and are part of something larger than themselves.
